Despite the luxurious three figure income that freelance writing provides, I still find myself seeking side work from time to time. I was even more surprised when I saw listings going down within minutes of going live on Craigslist. After this happened a few times, I decided to check out the policies governing flagging on Craigslist. Free classified ads receiving a sufficient number of qualified negative flags are subject to automated removal. Based on that description my assumption was that multiple users had to flag a listing down in order to get it removed from the site. After Googling around for a bit, I discovered that several autoflagging programs are available for purchase, and they make it really easy for one person to get a posting removed from Craigslist. Autoflagging software connects to a proxy server, flags the posting in question, switches proxies, flags the listing again, and repeats that process until the listing goes down. With this new-found knowledge I was certain I had cracked the case.
Have you ever had a date from craigslist?
It made her heart flutter. She believes the anonymous quality of missed connections is part of what makes them so appealing. Missed connections are probably still around because of the digital element, but the serendipity involved gives them an extra sense of romance. She scanned through posts from all over the country, eventually creating a graphic for Psychology Today that depicted geographic patterns.
Mar 23, · From Esquire. Craigslist just got rid of its entire personals section, which was reportedly one of the most used parts of the site, thanks to a new law aimed at cracking down on sex trafficking.
I was married and against my wishes the marriage ended. I loved my wife deeply, she decided she no longer loved me and she wasn’t “happy”. So, now I date. I didn’t ask to be in my 40s and single, but reality being what it is I live with it. I have no plans to ever get married again. I might have a steady girlfriend if the occasion arises, but she’d have to be pretty damn spectacular for me to make that leap. I have had all my children, I am financially secure and have a plan for myself that is better done without a typical American woman’s bullshit to goof it up.
I don’t hate women at all by the way, I just know what is worth my time and what isn’t. I date for the occasional bit of company and to occasionally have sex, that’s about it. I don’t need a woman in my life full time. I can cook and clean, etc, etc. If I wanted full time companionship, I’d get a dog. Dog’s are much easier to deal with than women at this point in my life.

Suppose you discover a Craigslist ad that makes deceptive advertising claims, or one that makes libelous accusations against you. Maybe a company is over-posting ads, or perhaps the advertisement is for a non-local business.

Craigslist Shut Down Infamous Personals Section
Age and body type have intriguingly not been specified. By leading with all physical attributes including age, hair and eye color, height, weight and the description “attractive athletic,” we know this guy is proud of what he looks like. The fact that he wants to meet up for a drink and exchange oral sex in a car, well, that leads one to believe that he probably lives with someone. If it’s a girlfriend or wife, that’s one thing. If it’s his parents, that’s kind of sad, plus it might mean the car he’s proposing to make out in is owned by his folks.

Are you sure you want to delete this answer? Yes Sorry, something has gone wrong. Most of these people are pessimistic or scared.
Craigslist, the decades-old website for online classifieds ads, took down the section it created to help strangers meet from its US site on Friday morning in light of an act passed by Congress to.
I foolishly, I’ll admit fell victim to a verification scam on Craigslist. The same one documented on this site ; the names and e-mail addresses and URLs are different, but the e-mail the person received after their ‘verification’ was the same one as mine, down to the URL mentioned in the mail. The gist is this: The company running the site would supposedly only use your credit card to verify that you’re of age, and do some sort of background check, I guess, to make sure you’re not a crazed axe murderer, at which point you’d receive the other person’s contact information.
In reality, what happens is they charge you 40 dollars for crappy porn. My main concern, then, is safety and security. Having the foresight to use a secure card read:
Craigslist Apartment Rental Scams

Since a lot of letters need to be answered, the scammer usually does not have the ability to answer all of them individually. The scam will go on for as long as the guy is willing to continue sending money to help his “Russian princess” to get through her never-ending travel misadventure. The bait will keep the “flames of his love” alive by periodically chatting with him on the phone or sending him descriptions of “her” erotic fantasies.

That was in the early s. Reynolds said she started reading these personal ads while she was in high school. The overwhelmingly negative coverage did not seem to jibe with what she had discovered in her review of hundreds of Craigslist personal ads, posted from to in New York City, Chicago and Los Angeles. President Trump is expected to sign the bill when it reaches his desk. This is not the first time Craigslist listings have come under scrutiny in relation to sex trafficking.
And even before the Internet began connecting LGBT people in novel ways, personal ads had played a significant but little-known role in the history of queer romance: Personal ads allowed same-sex couples to meet covertly while avoiding criminal punishments that could, in some cases, end in death. Gay ads would appear in printed newspapers and magazines from the 18th century onward, one notable example being Gai Pied , once the most widely read gay magazine in France — founded by journalist Jean Le Bitoux and named by philosopher Michel Foucault.
